Ying Wang - Partner
Ms. Wang has nearly 15 years of Investment Banking experience across New York, Hong Kong and Sydney. She has worked for Deutsche Bank, UBS, and Barclays Capital. Since 2005 Ms. Wang has been focusing on cross-border M&A related to China. She has announced and closed transactions totalling US$10 billion in volume. Her transaction experience spans across multiple industry sectors including manufacturing, financial institutions, telecom, media, technology, natural resources, transportation, and real estate. The types of transaction she has led include outright acquisition or sale of controlling or minority stakes in private businesses, privatization, minority investment in, and restructuring of listed companies, acquisition of distressed or non-performing assets, and establishment of Sino-foreign joint ventures. Her key clients included Beijing Auto, China Life, Haier Group, ICBC, PetroChina, and Weichai Power.
During her tenure as the M&A Project Manager at Shandong Heavy Industry Group, she deepened her understanding of the opportunities and challenges faced by Chinese companies in overseas expansion, participated in the planning and strategic discussion of various investment projects, and led execution of several mid-cap acquisitions.
For the past six years Ms. Wang has been actively involved with early stage companies as an investor, a board member, and an advisor to their strategic initiatives.
Ms. Wang was born and raised in Mainland China, lived in Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific. She has a Chemical Engineering Bachelor’s degree from Queen’s University in Canada and MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business in Canada. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, English and Danish. She currently resides in London.

Edward Amies - Partner
Mr. Amies has over 20 years of experience working with London based financial sponsors (“FS”). He has accumulated extensive knowledge of the investment portfolio of the FS, and built strong relationships with key decision makers at firms such as CapVest, Charterhouse, ECI, HG Capital, Montagu, Providence, Star Capital.
For the past six years, Mr. Amies has been increasingly involved in the cross border investment activities between Asia and Europe, which include investments in the public and private equity space. This allows him to capitalize on his strong relationships in Europe and extensive knowledge of FS’ portfolio to source investment opportunities for Asian investors. His deep understanding of Asian corporates makes him well suited to assist Europeans corporates in accessing the vast Asian market and capital.
Mr. Amies has been spending significant amount of time facilitating cross border investments in the consumer, healthcare, education, and technology sectors. This will continue to be his focus due to their particular relevance to the Asian and European corporates and investors.
Mr. Amies was educated at Eton College and Bristol University where he read Sociology and Economic History. He is very passionate about charitable causes, including being a board member of UK based Careforchildren and South Africa based Newday United. Mr. Amies currently resides in London.
Lily Zhang - Partner
Ms. Zhang has accumulated nearly ten years of cross border M&A and investment experience between China and Europe. Before joining Intellium, she was a Director at Vermilion Partners, a leading China cross-border M&A advisory firm merged with Natixis in 2018. Her responsibilities included initiation and execution of advisory mandates in Telecom, Media, and Technology (TMT) sector, Consumer & Retail, Leisure and Sports sectors. She initiated and led the execution of landmark transactions including the acquisition of Birmingham-based Premier League football club West Bromwich Albion by a Chinese consortium in 2016, sale of British iconic toy retailer Hamleys to Reliance Industries, India’s largest conglomerate in 2019. Ms. Zhang’s clients included Ant Group, Beano Studio, China Brands Group, McDonald’s, Sanpower Group, Silvergate Media, and Swiss Education Group.
Ms. Zhang was born and raised in China. She obtained a Bachelor of Accountancy (Honours) degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, and obtained a Master's degree in Financial Economics from University of Oxford. Ms. Zhang currently resides in London, and travels regularly to China.
